KARACHI, Oct 14: The ITF Junior Tennis Initiative (JTI) programme for school boys and girls between the age group of 6 to 14 years is to begin soon in the province under the aegis of the Sindh Tennis Association (STA).

The STA has finally received the equipment which was lying at the PTF office in Islamabad for over a year after being sent by the ITF.

This is the first time ever that the PTF has picked Sindh for the proposed programme which also takes place in Punjab.

Pakistan is among the few countries chosen by the world governing body of the game for the programme, already held twice in the country in the past.

According to STA secretary, Khalid Rehmani, the sports gear includes balls (code 055) 16 dozens, (code 060) 10 dozens, (code 061) seven dozens, mini rackets green and yellow (code 047) 25, rackets midsize graphite 27” (code 065) 10, rackets aluminum 27” (code 066) 18, rackets aluminum 25” (code 067) 16, rackets aluminum 23” (code 068) 8, nets mini tennis (code 059) 4 and strings 200 metres reel (code 009) 4.
