ANP leader injured in blast

UPPER DIR, Oct 13: A local leader of Awami National Party was among five people injured when an explosive device detonated by remote control hit their vehicle in Upper Dir on Monday.

Sources said that Samin Khan, who was ANP’s candidate for PF-93 in the Feb 18 elections, was going to his Muskari village when his vehicle was hit the device near Kandao.Mr Khan, his three companions and driver were injured.

Samin Khan suffered minor injuries while the condition of his friends Alamgir Khan, Amanullah and Malik Ambar Khan was stated to be serious.

According to local people, militants had threatened Samin Khan with ‘consequences’ after the killing of two suspected suicide bombers in Upper Dir last month.
