RAWALPINDI, Oct 12: District Coordination Officer Imdadullah Bosal said on Sunday that there was no shortage of wheat flour anywhere in the district and that sufficient number of 20kg bags of the staple food had been provided at all the Sunday bazaars at the price of Rs410 per bag.

During his visit to the bazaars and special sale points, he said stringent measures had been adopted to check the smuggling of Atta and that police as well as officials of the food department were alert at all the exit checkposts of the district.

He said price magistrates were also paying visits to markets and shopkeepers were being challaned on overcharging and hoarding.

The DCO informed that Sasta Tandoor Programme was being fully implemented under the instructions of Punjab Chief Minister Mian Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif and rooti was being provided to the consumers at Rs2. He said more tandoor owners interested to provide rooti at this price after the approval of government would be incorporated in the programme.

The DCO also met a number of consumers at the Sunday bazaars and inquired about the availability of daily-use items on fixed prices. He directed the stallholders and shopkeepers to place prominently price lists of different items.
