LARKANA, Oct 8: Five members of a family were allegedly kidnapped from Serai Fateh Mohammed Kassar village in the jurisdiction of Fatehpur police station on Wednesday.

Disputing the villagers’ claim, Larkana police said that Thariri Mohbat police had picked them (the villagers) in the light of an FIR registered against them.

Sources said that armed men of Lakhair and Gorar clan came in three cars and created panic in the area after resorting to fierce firing and kidnapped Nazar Mohammed Kassar, 42, Nazeer Ahmed, 35, his two sons Jaffar 4, and Dilthar 3, and Mohammed Asif 12. The kidnapping was the result of a matrimonial dispute, the sources said.

About a week ago Mir Hassan Kassar had married Farzana Gorar which triggered the dispute and two cases of kidnapping were registered with the Thariri Mohbat police station.

Three days ago police had arrested five people in the case but later released them.

The villagers said that armed men of Groar and Lakhair clan had stormed the village and kidnapped five people while police said that Thariri Mohbat police had picked them in connection with FIRs registered against them.

Ex-MNA booked: On the directives of the district and session judge, the Market police have registered a case against former MNA and sitting general secretary of PPP, Larkana district, Anwar Bhutto, his brother Asghar Ali Bhutto and three unidentified policemen on Wednesday.
