LAHORE, Oct 6: About eight-hour delay in the departure of a Karachi-bound PIA flight caused a great deal of inconvenience to its 275 passengers at the Allama Iqbal International Airport here on Monday.

The PK-303 was to leave for its destination at 11am, but the PIA authorities informed passengers that the flight had been delayed owing to some ‘technical fault’. Avoiding to mentioning how much time they would take to remove the fault irked the passengers. They protested against the airline and asked the authorities to accommodate them in other flights.

The PIA later announced that the flight would depart at 6pm which eventually took off at 6:40pm. According to a PIA spokesperson, some 50 passengers had requested to adjust them for Tuesday’s flight while the rest were taken well care off before their departure to Karachi.

Meanwhile, the departure of another national airline’s flight (PK-270) for New Delhi also delayed for over three hours. Its scheduled departure from Lahore airport was 3:30pm, but it left for its destination at 6:45pm.
