GUJRAT, Oct 4: Police recovered a 10-year old girl who was kidnapped for a ransom of Rs2.5 million and arrested three kidnappers on Saturday.

In a news conference, District Police Officer Tahir Alam said Farzeen Shahzadi of Mungowal was returning from school when Rizwan, Sarfraz and Naveed kidnapped her and demanded a ransom of Rs2.5 million.

The DPO said: “The family paid Rs1.5 million to the kidnappers, but the police, assisted by Elite Force commander Asad Cheema, traced the hideout of the culprits and recovered the girl.” The police also seized a pistol, a rifle, bullets and cash from them.

The police have registered a case against Rizwan and Sarfraz of Mandi Bahauddin and Naveed of Mungowal, Gujrat district.
