Girl stabbed to death for honour

KASUR, Oct 3: A girl was stabbed to death allegedly by her brothers for honour at Nathe Jagir village on Friday.

Reports said Imdad Ali and his brother killed their sister ‘P’ on suspicion of having a loose character.

Kasur police have registered a case on the complaint of victim’s father Iqbal.

SETS ABLAZE: A man set himself ablaze after his lover refused to marry him in the limits of B-Division police station here on Friday.

Reports said cloth merchant Naeem Bhatti took the extreme step after the girl plainly refused to marry him. He was shifted to the Lahore General Hospital where he succumbed to his burn wounds. Police are looking into the matter.

TWO KILLED: A constable and his cousin were killed in a road accident on Wednesday in the limits of Chhanga Manga police station.

Reports said constable Khalid Pervez and his cousin Nasir were on their way home to Okara from Chhanga Manga by their motorcycle to celebrate Eid with their family. Near Kot Radha Kishan, a speeding car, coming from the opposite direction, hit their bike. As a result, Pervez died on the spot while Nasir succumbed to his injuries at Jinnah Hospital, Lahore.
