No let-up in karo-kari killings

JACOBABAD, Oct 3: Two men and a woman were killed on the pretext of karo-kari inJacobabad and Kashmore-Kandhkot districts on Friday.

A man and woman were killed on pretext of karo-kari in Kalati Golato Village near Bakhshapur, Kashmore, on Friday. Rozan was at her home when her husband Abdul Karim Golato opened fire as a result of which Rozan died on the spot. Her husband suspected she had illicit relations with Thangai Golato.

Abdul Karim followed Thangai and opened fire on at him as a result of which Thangai also died on the spot. The accused fled from the scene. The deceased Thangai’s brother Abdul Rehman lodged an FIR against Abdul Karim and Ali Hassan with the Bakhshapur police.Meanwhile, a man was killed on pretext of karo-kari in the jurisdiction of City police station on Friday. Gul Baig 55, was standing near Jacobabad bus stand when armed men opened fire. He died on the spot. City police shifted the body to the Civil Hospital for post-mortem. The nephew of deceased, Khairal, lodged an FIR against Basheer Jakhrani, Nazeer Jakhrani and two other unidentified persons.
