Four FC personnel killed by mine

QUETTA, Sept 30: Four security personnel were killed and five others injured by a landmine in Zain Koh area of Dera Bugti on Tuesday.

According to sources, Frontier Corps personnel were on routine patrol when their vehicle hit what a police officer said was an anti-tank mine.

FC troops deployed in the area rushed to the place and took the injured to the PPL hospital in Sui. The condition of three of the injured was said to be serious.

The personnel killed were identified as Nazir Badshah, Dost Mohammad, Iqbal Shah and Tahmil Khan.

After the incident, security forces cordoned off the area and launched a search operation in Zain Koh, Toba Nokhani and Gandpao.

Army claimed responsibility

for laying the mine which it spokesman Sarbaz Baloch said was detonated by a remote-control.

Talking to newsmen from an unspecified place, he claimed that nine security personnel had been killed and over a dozen injured in the blast.
