VEHARI, Sept 29: Five people were injured when a welding gas cylinder exploded in a paint workshop in Fawara Chowk in Burewala, some 45 kilometres away from here, on Monday.

Workshop owner Rafaqat Ali and workers Safdar, Waseem, Shehzad and Mukhtar were taken to Burewala T.H.Q Hospital where they are stated to be in stable condition.

According to police, the cylinder exploded due to negligence of the workers.

Earlier, a bomb hoax hit the city when the cylinder exploded, putting all law-enforcing agencies on high alert.

The bomb disposal team inspected the workshop and cleared the area to run ordinary businesses.
