MIRPURKHAS, Sept 29: Power supply to various areas of the city was disrupted when various transformers in the city and Satellite town reportedly imploded on Monday morning.

The affected areas included Bhansinghabad, Adam town, Lalchandabad, Gharibabad, Taurrabad, Dholanabad, Jamnadas colony, Shahi Bazaar, Khisakpura, Sir Syed road, Mirwah road, Cloth market, Municipal shopping centre, Police line shopping centre, M.A Jinnah road.

Power breakdown affected business activities as well as daily life. Water supply to the city was also disrupted.

However, the power utility carried out repair works and rectified faults in the supply line and the supply was restored after eight hours.

SECURITY BEEFED UP: Preparations for Eid are in full swing amidst strict security arrangements in the city as the DPO has been intensified police patrolling.

Police personnel have been deployed at sensitive places including mosques, imam bargahs, main chowks, roads, bazaars, shopping centres to avert any untoward incident.
