LAHORE, Sept 28: One person sustained burn injuries and another passed out while valuables worth Rs10 million were reduced to ashes when a fire broke out in a department store near Moon Market in Iqbal Town on Sunday.

Rescue 1122 said store owner's son Rana Umer and employee Anwar Saeed were admitted to Jinnah Hospital. Firefighters from Rescue 1122 and City Fire Brigade controlled the fire after three hours. High-voltage electricity created sparks and fire.

Another fire reduced to ashes food items and valuables worth Rs400,000 at Afaq Bakers owned by Sheikh Kamran at Latif Chowk on Vandala Road.

Short-circuit caused the fire which the Rescue 1122 fire service extinguished after one hour.
