Henry to consider move from Barcelona

PARIS, Sept 26: Thierry Henry said he will consider leaving Barcelona during the winter transfer window if coach Pep Guardiola leaves him on the bench too often.

“For now, it is not a topical matter. But if things stay the same, of course we will have to talk about this,” Henry told the French sport daily L’Equipe in an interview published on Friday.

Henry did not come on to the pitch during Barca’s 3-2 win over Real Betis on Wednesday with Guardiola fielding Andres Iniesta instead on the left wing.

“It is true I had a talk with the coach before the season began. For me, this talk was very clear,” Henry replied when asked if Guardiola told him he would play as a striker.Henry added that he had turned down offers from other clubs after his talk with Guardiola.—Reuters
