Fahim excels in AKU event

KARACHI, Sept 26: Standard Chartered Bank thrashed Royal Bank of Scotland by 59 runs to cruise into the AKU Twenty20 Ramazan cricket tournament semi-finals at the AKU Ground on Thursday.

Sent in to bat first, Standard Chartered mustered 168 for seven in the stipulated 20 overs. Fahim Bukhari banged four sixes and a four in his 38-ball knock of 56. Kamran Khan struck six boundaries in his 30 and Azmat Ali hoisted four sixes in his 26. Raheel Waris took three wickets for 22.

Royal Bank of Scotland, in their turn, were dismissed for 109 in 17.1 overs. Hasan Masood made 38 with two fours and a six. Atif Raza and Aqeel Ahmed shared six wickets between them.
