KHAIRPUR, Sept 22: Police picked up Ms Sassui and her five children and shifted them to an unknown place after raiding Waris Shambhani village of Saleh Patt taluka nine days ago, the woman’s relatives told journalists on Monday.

Abdul Razzaque, Ms Sassui’s husband and Shahan Korai, father-in-law, said that a massive contingent of Kot Diji police raided the village, forced into the house of his son and picked up his wife Sassui, daughters Abida, Zahida, Shahida and Rukhsana and son Ahmed Ali. They said that they had no information on where the police had kept Ms Sassui and her children. Kot Diji journalists confirmed that Razzaque and Shahan Korai had met them on Sunday evening and told them about Ms Sassui and her children’s arrest and disappearance.

The SHOs of Kot Diji and Ranipur police stations declined to have raided any village in Saleh Patt taluka and picking up Ms Sassui and her children.

Sources said that police were picking up people for interrogation from several villages over kidnapping of Dr. Jai Kumar, Vicky Kumar, Nandoo Mal and Kundan Lal.

Police, however, denied reports of arrest of villagers or women.

WOMAN KILLED: One Haider Bux Shahani killed his sister Arbab Khatoon, 28, with a pistol in Bachal Shahani village near Ranipur on the pretext of karo-kari early on Monday.

Police reached the crime scene after being informed of the murder and took the body into custody, which was later handed over to relatives after post mortem carried out at the Ranipur Rural Health Centre.

No case was registered till the filing of this report.
