PESHAWAR, Sept 19: Three brothers were killed and their father was critically injured when some gunmen ambushed their vehicle near the Shah Alam Bridge on the Charsadda Road on Friday morning.

They had a land dispute with some relatives and were going to a local court in that connection.

The brothers were identified as Kaleemullah, who was a bank officer, Asif Farooq and Sohail. Kaleemullah had got married only eight months ago. Their father, Abdul Wasai, is in critical condition in a local hospital.

The Daudzai police registered a case on the complaint of Shahid Iqbal, a brother of the deceased, who charged his cousins and other relatives, including Shehzada, Gulzada and Khanzada, with the killing.

The complainant said they were having a dispute over a piece of land and jirgas had been held, but the issue could not be resolved.

He said the case was also pending in the local court and his brothers and father were going to attend the court proceedings when they were attacked by their rivals. — Bureau Report
