HYDERABAD, Sept 14: the Hyderabad district chapter of the Government Secondary Teachers Association has decided to stage a sit-in outside the offices of the district nazim and EDO education on Sept 23 if a notification about promotions of teachers is not issued by September 22nd .

The decision was taken at a meeting of the association held here on Sunday under the chairmanship of district president, Zamir Khan.

The meeting pointed out that all the legal formalities had been completed five months back and the relevant documents had been sent to the district nazim but the holding of DPC was being delayed for unknown reasons.

There is a great resentment among the teachers, the meeting was told. It resolved to stage an indefinite sit-in outside the office of the district nazim and EDO education on September 23, if the notification about the promotions of the teachers was not issued by September 22nd .

It demanded of the Sindh education minister to intervene in the matter and restore justice to the secondary teachers whose promotions have been withheld for the last four years.
