HYDERABAD, Sept 12: An inquiry to check activities of banned jihadi outfits’ activists here on Friday has cleared them and recommended their release.

Hyderabad police had picked-up around half a dozen activists from various parts of the city following a crackdown against activists of proscribed organisations in the wake of killings of two members of Ahmedi Jamat in Mirpurkhas and Nawabshah.

These activists included Saeed Jadoon, Tariq Aziz, Zahid Mushtaq, Haji Yunus and others.

DPO Hyderabad Ghulam Nabi Memon had confirmed their detention for verification of the fact whether their sureties and bonds correspond with their activists because their names are covered under fourth schedule of Anti Terrorism Act.

DPO had asked SPO Phulelli and senior investigating officer SIO of Pinyari and GOR to verify their activists in the light of their bond. The inquiry has been conducted and its report has been submitted to the SP City, a police source said. “The directives for their release have been issued and they would be issued any time”, said the source.—By Our Staff Correspondent
