ISLAMABAD, Sept 10: An informal meeting of the federal cabinet held at the Prime Minister’s House on Wednesday decided to request President Asif Ali Zardari to address joint session of parliament.

At another meeting, President Zardari and Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani agreed that the joint session should be convened next week.

According to sources, the session may be called on Sept 19.

The prime minister had sounded out parliamentary groups of the ruling coalition last week about the president’s address to parliament.
