QUETTA, Sept 8: Six tribesmen were killed in a clash between two clans of the Kakar tribe in Maziadha area of Killa Abdullah district on Monday. Seven people were injured.

According to sources, a group of men of one of the clans attacked the village of Majak, some 100km north of here. They faced resistance and a heavy exchange of fire which started at 2am continued till 9 in the morning.

Both sides used rockets, mortars and machineguns.

A number of houses were destroyed and many families had to move out of the village.

Officials said that the district administration had deployed law-enforcement personnel in the area to avert further clashes.

The injured were taken to the civil hospital in Killa Andullah.

The clash was the result of old enmity. The tribal feud has so far claimed 100 lives.
