Qasim’s word of caution to PML-N

Published September 8, 2008

LAHORE, Sept 7: PPP MPA Qasim Zia says if the

PML-N leaders are not willing to tolerate the PPP ministers' presence in the provincial cabinet, they should be prepared to face the 'worst consequences'.

In a statement here on Sunday, he said the PPP wanted to maintain its alliance with the PML-N.

He alleged that the inept PML-N advisers were out to rock the boat of the Sharifs.

Leader of the opposition in the previous provincial legislature, Qasim Zia said Governor Salman Taseer enjoyed the backing of Mr Asif Zardari as well as the entire PPP.

He alleged that the Punjab government carried out victimization during the presidential elections.

The chief secretary, he said, intimidated the PPP MPAs through the DPOs.

Still, he said, Mr Zardari got 23 more votes from the Punjab Assembly than party's actual strength in the house.
