PESHAWAR, Sept 7: Son of an imambargah’s caretaker was shot dead here by unidentified persons in Rehman Baba area on Sunday.

The assailants escaped from the scene after killing the teenage boy, Syed Ali Raza. The body was found by the officials of Yakatoth Police Station and handed over to his family.

The deceased, stated to be 18 years of age, was son of Syed Lal Badshah, the caretaker of Imambargah Alam Shah located at Kochi Bazaar in the interior city.

Family members claimed that someone had knocked at their residence following which the deceased went out. They added that he did not returned home and later on they were informed that his body was lying in a graveyard at Rehman Baba area. Father of the deceased said that they had no enmity with anyone.

The enraged residents of Kochi Bazaar area blocked the road for around half an hour, protesting against the killing of Ali Raza. On the assurance of the police the protesters dispersed peacefully.—Bureau Report
