HYDERABAD, Sept 4: Sindh People’s Youth Organisation (SPYO) activists took out rallies in different parts of Sindh on Thursday to protest against what they called media trial of PPP co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari by his political rivals.

The Hyderabad rally began from the district council office and ended outside the press club where SPYO leaders addressed its workers.

They were carrying placards and banners and were raising slogans in support of Mr Zardari and Ms Benazir Bhutto.

The rally was led by SPYO president Ajiz Dhamra and Hyderabad division president Ahsan Ali Abro.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr Dhamra and Mr Abro rapped those forces which were busy in what they said media trial of their party co-chairman.They condemned foreign media and forces which were the product of dictatorships for resorting to mud-slinging against Mr Asif Zardari.

They warned them to desist from negative propaganda and said that it was tantamount to insult to people of Pakistan and their elected representatives.

They said that SPYO would not tolerate character assassination of political heir of their leader Ms Benazir Bhutto.

They said the people who had always preferred sitting in the lap of dictators were asking the PPP head to honour commitment, but they don’t like to disclose on how many occasions they had honoured their own commitments.

They called for an end to media trial and said that Asif Zardari was the head of the largest political party of the country whose leaders had sacrificed their lives for democracy and Pakistan.

In Jacobabad, SPYO rally started from the PPP office on Quetta road. After marching on different roads, protesters reached outside the press club.

The protesters were carrying banners and raising slogans against the attack on Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani.

In Badin, A large number of SPYO activists took out a rally against the media trial of the party co-chairman and candidate for presidential election.

The rally led by Tanveer Ahmed Arain provincial information secretary of the party and Riffat Naveed Chaudhry. After marching on different city roads, it reached outside the press club.

The participants were raising slogans in favour of Asif Ali Zardari and demanding an end to character assassination of Mr Zardari.

Speaking on the occasion, Tanveer Ahmed Arain said those who were involved in hatching conspiracies against Mr Zardari were not sincere with the democracy and the country.
