KHAR, Sept 3: At least four militants were killed and several others injured in attacks by security forces on their hideouts in Bajaur Agency on Wednesday.

According to sources, the forces attacked a house at Ghundai Darra in Salarzai where Taliban were holding a meeting. Two militants were killed and two others were injured.

More than 20 Taliban, among them key commanders, were planning attacks on security forces’ checkpoints, the sources quoted paramilitary officials as saying. One militant was killed in Damadola and another in Charmang and three were injured in attacks by security forces.

The violence and shellings have again forced local people to leave Damadola, Dabbar and Badano and shift to Sadiqabad, Anayat Kalley, Khar and other nearby areas.

Meanwhile, a lashkar formed by the Salarzai tribe continued attacks on hideouts of militants. Several hideouts were destroyed and a huge quantity of arms and ammunition was seized.

The lashkar took control of a seminary in Choothra and seized a large number of sacks of fertiliser which is used to make bombs.
