LAHORE, May 7: Punjab retained the Pakistan inter-provincial under-16 volleyball championship which concluded at Rawalakot, Azad Kashmir on Tuesday, said a message received here.

In the final the holders outgunned NWFP in straight sets, 25-14, 26-24, 25-22, securing overall eight points for maintaining their supremacy.

Punjab did not concede a single defeat in the event played on double league basis.

Punjab’s Sajjad was declared the best player of the event. Skipper Syed Ahmad, Sikandar and Naseer played dominating roles in their teams success.

Meanwhile, the Director General, Sports Board Punjab, Khalid Masood Khan has greeted the team on winning the championship.—APP
