HYDERABAD, Sept 2: Tribute was paid to renowned broadcaster Saleh Mohammad Shah for his services in promoting culture of Sindh and disseminating massage of Shah Abdul Latif Bhitai at a gathering held at the Sindhi Adabi Board on Monday to mark his second death anniversary.

Speaking on the occasion, the vice-chairman of the board, Shaikh Aziz, said that Saleh Mohammad Shah, popularly known as Fateh Khan for his famous radio programme “Fateh Khan ji Katchehry,” was a great broadcaster had his own unique style.

Saleh Mohammad Shah understood the philosophy of immortal poet Shah Abdul Latif Bhitai and spent his entire life in disseminating his massage, Mr Aziz said.

He said that the services of Saleh Mohammad Shah in promoting culture of Sindh could never be forgotten.

The secretary of the board, Professor Syed Zawar Naqvi, said that Saleh Mohammad Shah was a scholar in his own right and his name would be written in golden words in the history of Sindh.

Nafees Ahmed Shaikh, Tariq Alam Abro, Hafeez Qureshi and Gulbadan Javed Mirza also spoke on the occasion.

BOOK: Meanwhile, Mr Naqvi has announced that the board has published a book “Dil Waren ji Duniya” comprising original and translated stories of noted short storywriter Najam Abbasi which were earlier published in quarterly Mehran.

He said in an announcement that the book, priced at Rs200, had been compiled by Yousuf Sindhi and was available in the market and the board’s bookshop at Tilak Incline.
