PESHAWAR, Aug 31: To control price hike during the holy month of Ramazan, the Peshawar administration has started raids against hoarders and profiteers and arrested more than a dozen shopkeepers under different food acts.

Under the directives issued by the NWFP chief secretary a special team has been formed for the purpose. The team comprising of ACO Peshawar, Masood Setti and Special Magistrate Khalid Mumtaz along with a police party raided various markets at University Town, Cantt area.

The team also raided a godown owned by Sher Mohammad and seized 900 bags of 49-kg wheat flour, which was being smuggled to Afghanistan.—Bureau Report
