TOBA TEK SINGH, Aug 25: Kamalia police on Monday recovered a woman who had been kidnapped from Swabi (NWFP).

Nasreen, 25, told the police that Wajid of the same area had kidnapped her after making her unconscious and brought her to Kamalia.

She was being sold by the accused for marriage to a man when police on a tip-off conducted a raid and recovered her.

Police also arrested four women and two men who were accomplices of Wajid. Further investigation is under way.

A source told this correspondent that Wajid was a member of an inter-district gang which kidnapped women from the NWFP, Afghanistan and tribal areas and finally sold them to those people who wanted second marriage or were old-aged but could not get married.
