Woman killed over karo-kari

KHAIRPUR, Aug 23: A woman has been allegedly killed by her family and her body thrown into the Indus River. Reports said the 24-year-old woman was killed some days back.

A police party headed by the DSP Ketti of Pir Sahib Pagaro, Ghulam Nabi Almani was formed on the directives of DPO Khairpur, Pir Mohammad Shah to investigate the matter.

Ghulam Nabi Almani told reporters at Pir Jo Goth on Saturday that a suspect Waqar Ulro, said to be brother-in-law of the deceased woman, was taken into custody for interrogation while search for the body was on. He said the woman was killed on the pretext of karo-kari.

However, the body could not be found till the filing of this report. — Correspondent
