PESHAWAR, Aug 23: A girl’s wish to get admission in university infuriated her brother who reportedly shot her dead here on Saturday.

According to the local police, Saima Yasmeen was reportedly shot dead by her brother Mazhar Hussein at Jubanpura in the old city area. The girl had passed BA and wanted to take admission in a university but her brother was against the decision.

The girl exchanged some hot words with her brother and he allegedly shot her with a pistol. She was rushed to the Lady Reading Hospital but succumbed to her wounds. The police have registered a case against the accused at the Hashtnagri police station but he could not be arrested immediately.

FATHER KILLS SON: A young man was shot dead reportedly by his father in Shahbkhel village area over a land dispute.

Police said Shahbaz son of Shamshad Khan was demanding his share in the land property from his father who was reluctant to do so. A jirga of their relatives and local people had tried to resolve their differences but failed.According to the police, they exchanged some hot words over the issue on Saturday and the accused father opened fire with a Kalashnikov and killed his son, and escaped the scene. A case was registered at the Badbher police station.
