Girls shine in BA exam

BAHAWALPUR, Aug 19: The Islamia University Bahawalpur (IUB) on Tuesday announced the result of BA, first annual examination for 2008 and girls clinched all three top positions.

Maria Munawar, a private candidate from Khanpur, stood first with 675 marks out of 800. Hina Akram and Faiza Gull of Bahawalpur’s Government Sadiq Degree College secured second and third positions by obtaining 670 and 658 marks, respectively.

According to the notification, 16,056 candidates took the exam and 4,977 of them were declared successful.

THANKSGIVING: Lawyers marked Tuesday as thanksgiving day. In this connection, they took out rallies and marched on main roads.
