LAHORE, Aug 15: Shoaib Hussan and Zoya Khalid, both from Punjab, emerged as the national U-19 squash champions, winning their respective finals at the Punjab Squash Complex here on Friday.

Shoaib crowned the title brushing aside Waqas Mehboob of NWFP in a straight set final that lasted just 31 minutes. The score: 9/2, 9/6, 9/0.

Shoaib raced to win the first set, dropping just two points and he doubled the lead after seeing some fight from Waqas who had him lose six points before the win. It was cakewalk in the third set for Shoaib as he was flawless and wrapped up it without conceding any point.

Zoya too earned a straight set victory, defeating Aliya Sarfraz 9/7, 9/0, 9/4. The winner remained on the court for just 21 minutes as Aliya was totally off-colour in an all-Punjab final.

Meanwhile, Habiba Khan of Sindh stretched to full distance in order to win the Under-15 title, after beating Riffat Khan of Punjab in an encounter that lasted 40 minutes. Habiba won with the score of 9/2, 5/9, 9/6, 0/9, 9/7.

In Under-11 final, an all-PAF affair, Shan toppled Ahsan in five setters, the score being 7/9, 9/3, 8/10, 9/6, 9/2. Shan waited for 37 minutes to complete the win.
