ISLAMABAD, Aug 14: Singh Saurabh (India) will vie for top honors in the boy’s singles final after defeating S.V. Abhishek in ITF Pakistan International Junior Tennis Championships played at PTF Tennis Complex on Thursday.

Saurabh will meet compatriot Rohit Bisht in the final on Friday.

Eighth seeded Rohit Bisht created an upset when he defeated Nasir Mushtaq Ahmed (Pakistan) in a well contested three set match 0-6, 6-2, 6-2.

In the second semi-final unseeded Singh Saurabh (India) walloped S. V. Abhishek (India) 4-6, 7-6(5), 7-5.

In the final set Singh saved 15 match point and won the final set at 7-6(5). In the boys doubles semi-finals fourth seed Saurabh Singh / Rohit Bisht (India) hammered top seed S.V. Abhishek / Vaidik Manshaw (India) in a thrilling three set match 4-6,6-3,10-6.

Prithiv Sivasubramanium / Shantanu Rajput (India) beat second seeded Ankesh Bhargava (India) / Nasir Mushtaq Ahmed (Pakistan) in two sets 6-4,7-5 during the second semi-final.

In the girls singles event top seed Rana Shaweta (India) eliminated Natasha Afridi of Pakistan in two straight sets 6-4,6-3. both the players displayed high quality of game and were appreciated by a large numbers of tennis fans.

In the second semi-final Luksika Kumkhum of Thailand beat Riddhi Hegde of India in straight set 6-3,6-0 and will face top seed Rana Shaweta in the girls singles final at 4:00 pm on Friday.

In the girls doubles event Natasha Afridi (Pakistan) pairing with Dina (Egypt) qualified for the final defeating Meheq Khokhar (Pakistan) and Rajni (India) in two straight sets 6-4,7-5.

In the second semi-final Kumkhum and Peerraya (Thailand) defeated top seed Rana and Bahrgava (India) in two sets 7-6, 6-1.
