HYDERABAD, Aug 14: Sindh Taraqqi Pasand Party Chairman Dr Qadir Magsi said on Thursday that the people of Sindh demanded unanimously that Musharraf should not only be impeached but he should be prosecuted for the heinous crimes against the nation.

Magsi said in his address to party workers at the Taraqqi Pasand House that Musharraf should not be indemnified nor should he be provided safe passage because he was guilty.

He said that Musharraf had lost legitimacy to remain in power after adoption of no-confidence resolutions against him by three provincial assemblies. His refusal to read the writing on the wall spoke volumes for his lust for power, he said.

He said that 160 million people of Pakistan had already rejected Musharraf on Feb 18 but he refused to accept their verdict.

There is not even an iota of doubt that Musharraf is a tyrant and responsible for the murder of Benazir Bhutto, Nawab Akbar Khan Bugti, Balach Marri and thousands of innocent Pukhtuns, Balochs and Sindhis, Magsi alleged.

He had suspended the Constitution on two occasions, bulldozed judiciary and parliament and condoned bloodshed of innocent people on May 12, Oct 18 and April 9 in Karachi.

Musharraf had given Muttahida Qaumi Movement free reign over Sindh and had been instrumental in providing resources and arms to this ethnic organisation, he said.
