Clerks stage rally for a raise

BAHAWALPUR, Aug 13: The All Pakistan Clerks Association (APCA) on Wednesday observed strike and staged a rally against the price hike and demanded a raise in the salaries of the lower grade staff of government departments.

The protesting clerks struck official work and assembled at the Government Technical High School ground where speakers condemned the government for unbridled price hike.

Later, APCA’s Punjab Secretary-General Fakhur Rehman Azhar led a protest rally which ended after marching various bazaars and roads.

They also raised slogans against the government.

SUSPENDED: Regional Police Officer Malik Khuda Bakhsh Awan on Wednesday suspended from service three inspectors for dereliction of duty.

Those suspended are Sajjad Husain Bokhari, Usman Haider and Nawazish Ali Bokhari of Rahim Yar Khan district.
