KARACHI, Aug 12: The festival hockey match between the Vice-chancellor’s Eleven and Olympians’ Eleven played at the Karachi University Hockey Ground on the inaugural day of the Karachi University Inter-departmental Sports Gala 2008 saw both sides getting two goals each.

Vice-chancellor’s Eleven were the ones to score first through their forward Adeel A. Hassan but Olympians’ full-back Sohail Abbas equalised in the last minute of the first half.

The second half was also played in the same fashion. Maqsood Ahmed of Vice-chancellor’s brought his side ahead again in the beginning and the Olympians came back into the game through Qamar Ibrahim who leveled the score towards the final moments of the game.

The tournament continuing till Aug 30, will hold events in hockey, cricket, football, volleyball, basketball, athletics, badminton, tennis, table tennis, squash and chess.—Agencies
