RAWALPINDI: Aug 12: An 11-year-old boy was killed while two other persons were injured when a garbage truck crashed into a house here on Tuesday, police said.

The incident occurred when the truck operated by the Town Municipal Administration (TMA) was offloading garbage near Khanna Road in Sadiqabad area.

As soon as the driver employed the vehicles hydraulics to offload the large bucket, the truck leaned and came crashing down on a house, entrapping three inmates.

After getting information about the incident, a Rescue 1122 team reached the spot and pulled two persons – Pervez Khan and Imran – out of the debris and gave them first aid. Though they were slightly injured, their cousin – Saeed Khan – was not lucky enough and he died of suffocation while buried under the rubble.

“The three persons sitting inside the house were trapped after the dumper fell on their house,” the investigation officer said.

Earlier on hearing calls for help, people from nearby houses rushed to the site and also informed the rescuers.

The truck driver escaped from the scene; however, the vehicle was impounded by the police.
