OKARA, Aug 12: Two fleeing robbers, including a woman, died while another sustained injuries when a snatched car they were travelling on overturned near village 25/2-R on Monday night.

Three robbers snatched a car (LEB-4042) from Asghar. When they were fleeing, the car hit a tree and overturned, killing robbers Sajjad and Shaista and injuring driver Noman. The police took Noman into custody and started investigations.

SHOOTOUT: A fleeing robber sustained bullet injuries while his accomplice fled after a shootout with police on Monday night.

Muhammad Akhtar, Irshad and Ghulam Mustafa were riding on a bike (OKK-1623). When they reached near Pul Khas, some 25 kilometres away from here, two robbers intercepted them, snatched their bike and cash and fled.

Gogera police started chasing the robbers and spotted them near Moza Kaku on which robbers shot at the police and one robber, later identified as Yasin, was injured in the ensuing shootout. Yasin was arrested by the police, however his accomplice Rustam, alias Rusti, fled.

COLLISION: A man died while six others sustained injuries when a bus hit a truck from rear on G.T Road. The truck (LZB-8648) was on its way from Lahore to Multan. When it reached near Tabrooq on G.T. Road, the bus (BUA-9579) hit it from rearside.

Ghulam Hussain, who was sitting in the truck’s cabin died on the spot while truck driver Tahir Abbas and six others were taken to CMH and DHQ Hospital in critical condition.

SUICIDE ATTEMPT: A man attempted suicide after failing to reconcile with his estranged wife.

Liaqat Ali, of Sahiwal, arrived here in Darul Ihsan locality to reconcile with his wife Razia Bibi. They had a heated argument followed by a scuffle.

Disappointed Liaqat later cut his throat with a sharp-edged weapon. He was taken to DHQ Hospital in critical condition.
