BEIJING, Aug 10: Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) President, Mir Zafarullah Khan Jamali on Sunday raised cash incentives for the hockey players on winning matches at the Beijing Olympics.

“We have decided to enhance the purse from US$300 to US$500 for every member of the Pakistan team for winning each pool match,” he told the reporters here.

Jamali said money had no value compared to the honour attached with every victory earned for the country, but the federation wanted to financially support the players to give their best in the Games.

Jamali said the nation had high expectations from the hockey team and it was time for the players delivered consistently. “If the players give good performance here, hockey will receive a huge boost back home.” - APP
