Kosovo sets sights on London Games

PRISTINA, Aug 8: Kosovo, newly independent but absent as the Beijing Olympics get underway, expressed hope on Friday of being able to take part in the next Games in London.

“I want the IOC not to forget that many Kosovo athletes met the Olympic criteria for travelling to Beijing,” the head of Kosovo’s Olympic committee, Besim Hasani, said.

“They could not take part at these Olympics this year but do not forget them ... Let’s motivate them by providing the unique Olympic opportunity for the best among them in four years,” Hasani said.
