ISLAMABAD, Aug 7: Mian Manzoor Ahmad Wattoo, Advisor to Prime Minister on Industries, Production and Special Initiatives, said on Thursday that the government is committed to promoting industrial and manufacturing sectors.

“We want to develop industrial and manufacturing sectors for economic growth, create employment opportunities and improve income of the people,” Mian Manzoor Ahmed Wattoo told a delegation of businessmen which called on him on Thursday. The delegation comprised representatives of FPCCI, All Pakistan Ginners Association, Engro Chemical, Pakistan Vanaspati Manufactures Association, Pakistan Auto Part Manufacturers Association, Indus Motors, Sigma Motors, Chenab Group, and Pak Suzuki Motors.

The members of the delegation apprised the minister of their problems and stated that load-shedding and hike in petroleum prices have increased cost of doing business.

Mian Manzoor Wattoo assured the representatives of industrial and manufacturing sectors that their genuine problems would be resolved. After an assurance by the minister, the APGA announced to call off its strike.
