GUJRANWALA, Aug 5: A boy was killed when roof of his house collapsed in Kot Qadir Bukhsh here on Tuesday.

Anwar, 12, was playing on the roof of his house when it caved in. He got buried under concrete debris and died on the spot.

SEIZED: A joint raiding team of the police and civil defence departments raided various markets and seized a huge quantity of fireworks from different shops here on Tuesday.

The district coordination officer (DCO) received complaints that shopkeepers had stored firework items for the Shab-i-Barat in their shops and godowns.

The DCO directed the police and civil defence staff to arrest the shopkeepers on which a raiding team was formed. The team arrested shopkeepers and later registered cases against them.

FIA: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) raided various travel agencies in Gujrat and arrested four persons, including a human agent, on Tuesday.

FIA Additional Director Hussain Asghar told Dawn that a team headed by Assistant Director Azim Hussain raided Alfasla Travel Agency, Tours International and Kharana Travels in Gujrat and Lalamusa and arrested a human agent, Abdul Razaq, and three others who wanted travelling abroad illegally.

The team also recovered some passports from their possession. Later, the FIA registered a case against them and sent them behind the bars.

Meanwhile, another FIA raiding party arrested two proclaimed offenders along with 15 deportees.

The arrested were identified as Manzoor Ahmad, of

Mandi Bahauddin, who was wanted in over 10 cases, and Ijaz Ahmad, another agent of Wazirabad.
