KARACHI, Aug 5: The Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry has sought extension in the last date for filing applications for plots in industrial estate on Northern Bypass in Karachi up to September 30. The date for submitting applications for the estate expired on July 30.

KCCI President Shamim Ahmed Shamsi said in a statement that hardly 50 per cent of the intending industrialists could apply by the last date due to various legal complications and formalities.

He pointed out that according to an advertisement the allotment letters of the plots to the successful applicants have been dispatched to their residences but he regretted that the letters were not received. He said that the applicants should be duly informed about the allotment and the documents required along with payment schedule.

The KCCI president appreciated the keen interest and support extended by the Sindh chief minister in promoting industrialisation in the province, especially in Karachi and called for earliest completion of the infrastructure in the industrial zones.

He said the Sindh Industrial Trading Estate would contribute a lot in bringing the socio-economic uplift of the people of the province besides strengthening the economy of the country.
