JACOBABAD, Aug 3: Three people were killed in Kharore village in the jurisdiction of Kashmore on Sunday.

Jalaluddin with his sons, Punhal and Yasin, was going to his village when armed men intercepted them and opened fire.

The three died on the spot. Local villagers placed the bodies on the Indus Highway in protest against the killing and blocked the road for five hours.

Kashmore DSP Muneer Phulpoto, SHO Nadir Bhatti with police party reached there and assured the protesters that the killers would be arrested but the protesters refused to budge and demanded immediate arrest of the culprits. Hundreds of people gathered there. The road remained blocked till the filing of this report.canal breach: A 35-foot wide breach developed in the Edan branch of Begari canal near Rindo Malghani village in the jurisdiction of Garhi Khairo police station on Sunday.

The water ran all over the agriculture lands and damaged paddy crop standing on hundreds of acres of land and submerged houses of Imdad Jamali, Hasul Jamali and some other Katcha houses of local farmers.

The villagers saved their lives and plugged the breach on self-help basis. They said that no irrigation official reached for their help and to plug the breach.
