KARACHI, Aug 3: Three people were killed on Sunday, police said.

The bullet-riddled body of a 20-year-old man was found at a desolate place near Baber Garden in the Memon Goth police limits. The victim, later identified as Imtiaz Ahmed, was a trainee technician at an air-conditioner workshop in Saudabad.

His father, Abdur Rasheed, who hailed from Sawabi, told police that his son left his Malir City residence for a video game club in the vicinity on Saturday night. The police said that the family mounted learnt about his death through a news channel.

The family reached the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre, where the body was shifted for a post-mortem examination.

Hospital sources said the victim received four to five bullets, one of them to his head, from a point blank range as all the bullets pierced through the body. They said the victim was tortured before he was shot dead.

Throat slit

The body of a young man with his throat slit was found near Ghas Bandar in Keamari. It was shifted to the Civil Hospital.

Sources said the victim, clad in light green-coloured shalwar-qamees, was in his early 30s. Jackson police said the victim, who appeared to be a Pathan, could not be identified. Police have registered a case against unknown culprits on behalf of the state.

Stray bullets

A 44-year-old man was killed and a woman was injured in a late night firing incident near Numaish.

Brigade police said the deceased was identified as Qamar Hussain. The injured woman was identified as Bilqees, 40.
