Jewellers to attend Indian fair

KARACHI, Aug 2: The Pakistan Gems and Jewellery Development Company (PGJDC) will send 68-member delegation to the Indian international jewellery show--IIJS Mumbai-2008 to be held from August 7 to 11.

An announcement made by the company on Saturday said that the objective to attend the exhibition is to maintain presence in the Indian jewellery shows and to build on contacts developed in 2006 and 2007.

It said that the visit would provide opportunity to the delegates to establish linkages, which would be developed further on a bilateral basis.

The delegation members will also learn about the developments taking place in the Indian gems and jewellery industry through the years.

The Pakistani delegation would interact with the representative bodies to discuss and explore the opportunities to collaborate for the uplift of gems and jewellery sector in Pakistan.

Mutiullah Sheikh, chairman PGJDC said in a statement that the international shows, like the one in India, provides tremendous opportunity to the Pakistani entrepreneurs to learn new trends, technology and innovation in the international markets.—APP
