BUNER, Aug 1: Ten people were killed and 16 others injured when a pickup plunged into a deep ravine near Chaghorzai here on Friday.

The vehicle was coming form the Shakolai area of Shangla to Swari in the Buner district when the incident occurred at a sharp turn.

Eight people died on the spot and two succumbed to their injuries on the way to a Peshawar hospital. Two of the injured were taken to Peshawar in critical condition and 10 were admitted to the DHQ Hospital in Daggar.

The deceased identified so far included Ali Abbas and his two sons Zaheer and Adnan, Salahudeen and Nawab.

The injured included Gulai, Seewa, Imam Said, Mohammad Hussain, Saidudeen, Farooq, Said Rehman, Bakht Rawan, Shahee Rawan, driver Khursheed, Ineeqa, Ziaullah, Gul Sher, Bakht Rukhssat and Nijjat.
