LARKANA, July 29: Sindh Irrigation Minister Jam Saifullah Dharejo has asked the Executive Engineer of Saifullah Magsi canal branch Syed Noor Shah to report to head-office, and suspended SDO Irrigation Warisdino Shakh Pervaiz Solangi on public complaints during a visit to Larkana.

President Sindh Abadgar Board Ishaque Mughairir while talking to Dawn said that the minister held meetings with growers and irrigation officers on Tuesday and received numerous complaints against the executive engineer.

The newly-placed Engineer Shafqat Wadho confirming the decisions said that the water level at ‘Grang Regulator’ (main distribution point) had increased from 1.7 feet 2.1 feet with improved irrigation to command area of 1,75,000 acres.

The minister asked the staff to immediately remove unauthorised modules and take action against water theft and ensure its availability at tail-end.

SAB alleged the Balochistan irrigation officials of lowering down the gates of Safiullah Magsi canal by force to which minister assured to provide Sindh its actual water share.
