SIALKOT, July 27: The Sialkot district made a history on Sunday as all officers and officials ensured their presence in their respective offices even on holiday ahead of Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif’s two-day scheduled visit of Sialkot starting from Monday (today).

So dreaded are the heads of district government departments that they have reportedly directed their subordinates verbally to keep records of offices in order for fear that the chief minister may pay a surprise visit to any department which can land any official/officer in trouble.

The entire government machinery remained busy in their offices to update the record to avoid any action from the chief minister.

All officials and staff of the district government departments, including revenue, health, police, social welfare and roads, in Sialkot, Daska, Sambrial and Pasrur were found in full of activity to set their ‘affairs’ in order.

EDOs of these departments directed all doctors, paramedical staff, revenue and other officials to ensure their presence in hospitals and their respective offices with updated official records.

Almost all hospitals and district government offices in Sialkot have been whitewashed. While dusty bed sheets have been replaced and hygienic conditions improved on an emergency basis in all hospitals. Aside from this, stores of hospitals have been flooded with all necessary medicines to show the chief minister that all is going well.

Police officials remained present in their offices and police stations to complete their official record in all respect.

Similarly, the TMA staff in Sialkot, Daska, Sambrial and Pasrur were seen removing garbage from roads and streets.

DCO Capt Atta Muhammad Khan (retired) said the chief minister would be given a two-hour briefing on the ongoing development projects in the district after his arrival here on Monday (today).

He said the chief minister would also hold a meeting with the local business community at the Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

In the evening, the CM will hold an open court at Pasrur besides visiting the THQ Hospital.

On Tuesday, Shahbaz Sharif will visit Daska THQ Hospital and also hold an open court at the Civil Rest House in Daska.
