FAISALABAD, July 25: The City District Government Faisalabad (CDGF) has decided to launch an anti-encroachment drive and a survey team has been constituted for this purpose.

The campaign will primarily be initiated in four urban towns -- Jinnah, Madina, Iqbal and Lyallpur. EDO (Revenue) Malik Muhammad Aslam has been nominated convener of Iqbal and Lyallpur towns and DO (Revenue) Amir Sultan Tareen is made convener of Jinnah and Madina towns.

Survey team members visited Sattiana Road, Getowala Chowk, Batala Colony, Samundri Road, Samanabad, Allama Iqbal Town, D-Type Colony, Jawala Nagar and other areas on Friday and asked encroachers to remove the structures on their own.

Aside this, the survey of other areas has also been started to devise a strategy to remove encroachments from all roads and bazaars.

Malik Aslam said that a meeting of all stakeholders had been convened to inform them about the operation and seek their suggestions.

Initially, he said, that traders, shopkeepers and vendors were being informed about the drive and the district government would remove encroachments by force after the deadline.
